金華 Kinka [Usami, Ito, Shizuoka]

This place is very near and dear to my heart. Kinka is a Chinese restaurant located in Usami near the ocean. It is a small shop with counter seats and an open area for larger groups. It’s a real local place. 20170718_203458

Owned and maintained by my students parents they are especially welcoming. English lacking but still it is a solid place to eat in this small town. Usami is known for it’s surfing scene so you’re able to grab a bite here after riding the waves.

They have an extensive menu. Everything from ramen, cha-han, gyoza, cabbage, pig feet and a variety of small dishes and fresh ingredients made this place one of my favorite places to eat when I lived in Usami. The restaurant maintained well. It is clean and there is air conditioning. Yay!

Locals usually clamor here for a drink or two and the specialty food I was say is this Gyoza. They made delicious gyoza here. Whenever I had guests stay in Usami I always took them here. And considering how small the town is you would be surprised when you see a huge crowd of people partying in the back of the room.

Thank you for 3 years of service.

And finally the owners are great and it is definitely a homely place. So if you’re ever in Usami in need of some Japanese Styled Chinese food check out Kinka. Experience the small town diner vibe.
