ラーメン猪のしし – Ramen Inoshishi [Mishima, Shizuoka]

Good day to everyone. I had the chance to go to this special ramen shop down in Shimizu-cho by recommendation from a guy named Shane. Anyway I didn’t know but Inoshishi is actually ranked on the Mishima Ramen list for delicious ramens! However not knowing this my expectations were slapped around by the deliciousness.

Shane Poses. And Chris doesn’t pay attention.

As I was passing it the first time you could smell the broth. The shop permeated a tonkotsu like broth. It’s quite a small shop and it was packed when we arrived. During busy hours they ask you to order ahead of time so they can prepare the food in advance.

It was small and cozy, and it seems they make their own gyoza and ramen. I am not completely sure but there is a high possibility. The condiments are simple, pepper, vinegar, spicy seasame oil, so you have everything you could want from a ramen restaurant.  They had a wide variety of ramen choices, from Soy Sauce, to Salt, to Spicy Tonkatsu, and they keep their side menu small but you got the basics. The ramen broth was lighter than I expected and the ramen was also spicier then I expect but it was delicious nevertheless.

I think the best part about this shop, is the gyoza. The gyoza is huge, delicious, flavorful and it’s a mix of garlic, nira and minced pork. Just the right amount. It is a solid gyoza to say the least. The food took awhile to come but I just think it was because the shop was packed and we all ordered quite a bit. This is definitely a place you’d want to eat at if you happen to be close to Sun To Moon. It came out to be around 1300 yen but that’s not that bad considering I was quite satisfied.

Right guys?

Anyway if pig is normal and wild boar is  extra delicious then I give this place a Pork Belly roasted over a fire.

Anyway if you’re in the area check out Inoshishi. It’s worth eating at!

p.s – Inoshishi means wild boar in Japanese.

Inoshishi is located near Sun to Moon. You’ll have to take a car or a bike to get down there from Mishima station.
