Ikinari Steak is a popular chain in Japan. It’s one of the few restaurants that you stand while eating. Japanese people always say standing and eating is unhealthy so they scoff at the foreigners. Entering this shop you get your table, take a gander at the menu and order a drink. After deciding what to eat you walk up to the counter and the butcher cuts your steak on the spot and cooks it for you. You get to choose the sides and how you would like the steak cooked. It’s really brilliant because you get a delicious steak. 1 inch thick steak cooked medium with garlic rice. That’s the way to do it. On the counter you have shoyu and garlic sauce, or wasabi. There are many different condiments. I wouldn’t really recommend bringing friends to eat with you since it’s more of a standing restaurant but I think it’s worth a try.
Because beef is so expensive in Japan look to spending about 2 to 4000 yen on your steak. It is kinda like if you wanna take someone out for a steak dinner but you don’t wanna sit for it. Cheers!
